Rachel Anyeme is a Spirit-filled gospel artist whose songs have been a blessing to many in the body of Christ. She has worked with a lot of talented singers in the industry due to her popularity. Rachel, who was born on August 1, 1993, to a Catholic family of 4 children, is the second child of the siblings born to her parents. Her late father was called Evariste Anyeme and her mother, who is still alive, is Charlotte Nandu.
It was at a very tender age that her passion for music was discovered. At the time of trying too gain her feet in the music scene, she started out my singing like some prominent singers of the 2000s, the MAKOMA. Her brothers and sisters had even nicknamed her “Pengani”, one of the prominent gospel voice then.

How She Began
Her childhood story is quiet an interesting one as she grew up enjoying R&B music from Makoma and later, at the age of 12, she joined the classical choir “Sheep of Jesus”, from the “Elimo Santu”.
Her music journey didn’t start at a palatable note for her as she struggled to master singing on a key and with a sweet voice. As a result of this, some persons in the church discouraged her from singing in the choir. She was even kicked-out of the choir at some point.
To her, it was a challenge to become better at singing. She already knew she wanted to sing so she gave herself to learning. She would go to her leaders house every time for music classes.
As a result of back-to-back training, she later turned out to become one of the prominent voice in the choir.
In 2009, when she left the Catholic Church and also the choir, she joined Mont Amba in her school, a group of Christian students called “Amba for Christ” where she began to lead worship and evangelized with her friends by the song.
At the time when she was done with schooling in 2011, she left to study Psychology at the University of Kinshasa and in the very beginning, she joined the university choir and gave her best there.

There in the choir she met Brother Michel Bakenda, who at the time was one of the leaders of the university choir.
Career
She started her music career in a simple way as a lone singer, and it was later that Brother Bakenda, who today is like a mentor to her, offered to work with her in and outside the choir, and to accompany her in her performances since, at the time, he did not yet have a band.
In 2013, brother Michel Bakenda began working on his album “Dieu de ma vie” with Rachel, in which she performed the song “Tendre am”.
This album became a hit at the same time, and it was then that Rachel made her debut in the music industry formally. From that time on, she did several performances with Brother Michel Bakenda, that brought her to the limelight.
Other artists began to notice her work, she also sang with brother Henri Papa Mulaja, at the School of David, and she even put her voice in one of brother Moïse Matuta’s albums.
The success recorded with Brother Michel helped to bring her out into the music scene. She soon started receiving personal invitations to go and perform in different churches, and concerts with artists whether they were known or not.
In 2017, she released a body of work (an album), a moment of praise and adoration recorded in the studio with brother Michel Bakenda “around the throne” released in September of the same year but he was unable to impact because he did not have enough communication on the subject.
But Rachel has stood out in several other projects alongside Pastor Lord Lombo, Sister Dena Mwana and more recently with El Georges, who are also signed artists of the Happy People label.
And on this occasion, she is now the recruit of the label, it must be said that her collaborations with the artists of the label opened the doors of Happy people to her so that she could be counted among its artists and not to mention her exceptional talent.
